Dire Straits members touring as The Straits will play for Prague next Wednesday, March 14

The Straits, comprised of former Dire Straits members Alan Clark (keyboards) and Chris White (sax, vocals), plus world-class musicians Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty's drummer), Terence Reis (lead vocals, guitar), Mike Feat (bass), Adam Phillips (guitar) and Jamie Squire (keyboards, vocals), are out on an 18-date European tour this March, stopping in Prague on March 14.
Prague, March 8 -- Dubbed as The Sound of Dire Straits“, The Straits embarked on the European tour at Belfast's Ulster Hall, continuing with concerts all over Europe (e.g. Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, UK). In Czech Republic, they will stop in Prague on March 14 in KC Vltavska.
In a recent interview for Prague Post, Clark, one of the original Dire Straits’ members said: We created [The Straits] to play a charity show last year and it was so much fun [...] we decided to keep going. The name The Straits was an obvious choice. It was a name we used “in house” for Dire Straits. John Illsley said to me that he would dearly like to join this band but couldn’t because of a health problem he had at the time, which, thankfully, he is over now. David [Knopfler] has been very supportive while pursuing his own solo career. Ed Bicknell, who was Dire Straits’ manager, likens this band to Dire Straits at their best. Mark [Knopfler] knows his songs and the band’s heritage are in excellent hands.
The upcoming European tour is a direct result of the overwhelming demand to hear the band’s much loved catalogue of unforgettable songs. The Straits will perform songs from the classic albums Dire Straits (1978), Communiqué (1979), Making Movies (1980), Love Over Gold (1982), Brothers In Arms (1985) and On Every Street (1991). The fans will get to hear all the greatest hits including Money For Nothing, Sultans of Swing, Walk of Life, Romeo and Juliet, Brothers in Arms, Private Investigations, Solid Rock, Tunnel of Love, and many more.
The tickets are available at Ticketpro portal. KC Vltavska address: Bubenska 1477/1, Praha 7, Holesovice.
The main media partner for The Straits’ concert is Radio Beat. The concert is produced in cooperation with KC Vltavská.
